9/11 TributeGUMMY BEARS9/11 Tribute by watsisface
On the way to elementary school,
I’m screaming bloody murder
About how it’s the worst place on earth.
Mom hands me a pack of gummy bears
So that I stop making her ears bleed,
And suddenly it’s as though I don’t have to endure
Seven whole hours of watching paint dry.
I cheer and save the treat for later.
In class my teacher is teaching us about bees,
And it occurs to me that she is quite like one as well.
A woman moving about slowly,
Droning on and on in a language I don’t understand.
She even has a dress
That is yellow like the sun.
But, like a bee’s suit,
It would look better on something else.
The droning is broken by a crash
And miles away,
I see a puff of dust go up
In the two towers I can see from school.
My teacher is wide eyed
And she stares at the spectacle
Because her husband works there
So it’s impossible to tear her eyes away
Just like me.
Everyone is cringing around me
And it’s a while before
